The Fry’s Chakalaka Burger pie recipe is perfect for that lazy Sunday lunch. Although it is a easy put together, I am sure your family will enjoy it as much as mine.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 box of Fry’s Asian spiced Burgers or traditional burgers
- 2 packets of puff pastry
- Olive oil for frying
- Salt and pepper
- 1 cup of chakalaka
- 1 cup of grated vegan cheese, you can add diary cheese if you desire
- Sesame seeds to garnish
METHOD
Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius
Roll out the first back of puff pastry onto a prepared surface. Cut the pastry in circles larger than the size of the patty.
Place the burger patties onto a cut pastry and wet the edges with a little water.
Add some chakalaka and vegan cheese to each burger then close the top off with another piece of cut pastry.
Use a fork to seal the edges.
Brush the top of each pie with some olive oil and sprinkle some sesame seeds over.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with a side salad or even some chips.
